Stephen Casey Chancellor, known affectionately as Casey by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Saturday, the 13th day of April 2024, at the age of 51, in Tyler, Texas with his beloved family by his side. Born on the 8th day of June 1972, in Houston, Texas, to parents Donald Skip Chancellor and Linda Gail Fulk. Casey was a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering courage.
Casey's life was marked by his dedication to his country and his family. After bravely serving in the Marine Corps for five years, he continued to embody the values of loyalty and camaraderie that he had learned in the service. This year would have marked his 30th anniversary of service, a milestone that he approached with the same commitment and pride that he carried throughout his life. His bonds with his fellow Marines were unbreakable, and they regularly gathered to share memories and support one another. He also enjoyed serving local families during Toys for Tots as part of the Rose City Marine Corps League.
Casey's interests were deeply rooted in the simple joys of life. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively family gathering. He had an ability to make every moment special and to create lasting memories with those he held dear. As a grandfather, his gentle nature and playful spirit endeared him to his grandchildren, who will carry the warmth of his love with them always.
Beyond his family, Casey's interests revealed a man of many talents and passions. His skill with a camera captured moments of beauty and significance, leaving behind a visual legacy that continues to inspire. Some of his most cherished work proudly adorns the walls by the coaches' office at Palestine High School, a testament to his artistic eye and his commitment to the community.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Casey's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Heather Chancellor; his daughter, Natalie Chancellor of Austin, Texas; his sons, Jesse Sanchez of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and Stephen Chase Chancellor, along with his wife Lauren of Venus, Texas. Casey's joy was multiplied with the birth of his two grandchildren, whose laughter and energy brought him immense happiness. Casey's brothers, Scott Chancellor and his wife Tracy of Palestine, Texas, and Jeffery Chancellor, PhD, and his wife Serena of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, remember him not just as a sibling but as a true friend and confidant.
