Sherry Lynn Martine, age 57, of Elkhart passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, the 4th day of July, 2017. Sherry was born in Dallas, Texas on Friday, the4th day of January, 1960 to Bill Slaughter and Erica Dunham Wallich.

Sherry Martine is preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Slaughter.

Ms. Martine is survived by her parents, Ernest and Erica Dunham; daughter, Jennifer Calderbank and husband Andrew of Freckleton, England; son, Richard Martine and wife Andrea of Whitehouse, Texas; sister, Brenda Roche and David Stone of Lufkin, Texas; three grandchildren, DeClan Calderbank, Athena Martine and Callie Martine and special friend, Elias Rivas.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.

  5. Jennifer Richard and Erika- I’m so saddened by this news- sherry was a wonderful mother daughter and friend. I always enjoyed our visits at school- she was an extremely hard worker!
    I would love to see all of you again- it’s been a long time- prayers and love to you all- remind Oma that I’m also the minnow lady- I hope she remembers me. She always ordered three dozen minnows😀

  6. Thank you Dru. Oddly enough we just talked about you yesterday! Mama was telling me where to get minnows and I said yeah I know from the teacher and she said you weren’t there anymore but the same place etc. then she got to talking about how sweet you were .

  7. I’m so sorry to hear of Sherry’s passing. Please except my condolences. I remember playing with all of you at the Banks home as kids. I last visited with Sherry not long ago at jury duty.
