Michael A. Kennedy
May 9, 1967 ~ December 14, 2017
Michael A. Kennedy, age 50, of Wills Point, Texas, passed from this life on Earth to his heavenly home on Thursday, the 14th day of December, 2017. Michael was born on the 9th day of May, 1967 to James and Mary Kennedy in Flagstaff, Arizona. He grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and worked most of his career in the entertainment industry as a lighting director for bands such as Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Willie Nelson, The Highwaymen and the German rock band Accept. His work took him many places all over the world. He decided to settle down a few years ago and started working for a company that furnishes lighting for the entertainment industry. As a result of growing up in South Louisiana, he liked to cook and prided himself on cooking Cajun food and being a New Orleans Saints fan. Michael liked to fix things, from working on his father's old John Deere tractor to his mother's computer.
Michael is survived by his parents, James and Mary E. Kennedy of Grapeland, Texas; son, Andrew A. Kennedy of Lumberton, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth M. Kennedy of Lumberton, Texas; brother, James S. Kennedy of Grapeland, Texas; sister, Sherri R. Kennedy of Tyler, Texas and his friend, Dana Busby.
Graveside service for Michael A. Kennedy will be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 18th day of December, 2017 at Augusta Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas with Rev. Chuck Bratz officiating.
