Orval "Duck" Oden

Orval "Duck" Oden, age 73, of Palestine, was called home on Thursday, the 20th day of September, 2018. He was born on the 6th day of October, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Barney C. Oden and Lucy Dudley Oden. Mr. Oden was a Mason and a member of the Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) organization. He loved to bowl and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Gynell Crenshaw.
Mr. Oden is survived by his daughters, Tracie Oden and life partner Jack Root, Ronda Baratto and husband Joe of Baytown, Texas, Karen Garrison of Tomball, Texas; brother, Barney C. Oden Jr. and wife Connie; brother-in-law, Richard Crenshaw; grandchildren, Amber Prater and husband Nathan, Courtney Flores and husband Adam, Brittney Riedel and husband Justin Parker, Darrick Riedel, Krista Garrison, Dusty Garrison and wife Alicia; great-grandchildren, Mark Johns, Hannah Johns, Brook-Lynn Flores and Gracelyn Riedel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be hosted by the family at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd day of September, 2018 at Palestine Grace Church, 2130 Country Club Road, Palestine, Texas.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be directed toward the B.A.C.A. organization, www.bacaworld.org.
Cremation services for Orval "Duck" Oden are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
