James "Jamie" Arthur Ryan, age 79, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, the 18th day of July 2020 at TruCare Living Centers in Palestine, Texas. He was born on the 3rd day of December 1940, in Nordheim, Texas, to Edward Ryan and Katherine Blakney Ryan.
Jamie loved the outdoors and spending time in the country. He was passionate about genealogy and spent a lot of time in research. He was an Airforce Veteran and a Christian.
Honoring Jamie's wishes, he is to becremated and laid to rest beside his parents. His family will gather for a private interment at Runge Cemetery in Runge, Texas on a later date.
Cremation services for James Arthur Ryan are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.

Although he never married or had children of his own, Jamie loved family and never missed a family gathering. He would bring his camera, sit where he could see everyone and quietly capture the event in pictures. Later, he would share the pictures which were always candid and took you back to that place in time. I will miss my dear friend.ÂÂ
James has been part of my family as long as I remember. He had been a friend & coworker of my Grandma & Grandpa Curtin & my Dad Mickey Palmer which have all passed now. Every time I would work for my Grandparents or Dad I always expected to see James at the office, he would tell me stories of the past. He was a great man & friend.
