Russell Conrad Price, Sr., age 83, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, the 30th day of January 2021 at his home. Mr. Price is now singing with the angels in Heaven. He was born on the 13th day of November 1937 in Athens, Texas to parents Jesse W. Price, Sr. and Lila Phillips Price.

Mr. Price was a former U.S. Navy Veteran who fought in the Korean War and a previous member of the Elkhart Masonic Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. Mr. Price greatly enjoyed square dancing and golfing with his brothers in his spare time. He also found great pleasure in fishing and going to auctions, where he primarily focused on buying old cars. Mr. Price loved his wife dearly and missed her every day since her passing. He has now returned with her and his other loved ones in Heaven for a joyful reunion.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse W. and Lila Price; wife, Mary Lynn Price; daughter, Mary Kathleen Rush (Price); brothers, Joe Price, Reggie Price, Jim Price, Jesse Price, Jr.; sister, Lois (Aunt Babe) Price; granddaughter, Amanda Thompson; and great-grandson, Cole Norman.

Mr. Price is survived by his son Russell Price, Jr.; daughters, Tammy Price and Molly Martinez; grandchildren, Wendell Nance, Nicole Nance, Timothy Lott, William Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Samantha Nelson, Christy Wainscott, James Rush, Justin Rush, and Carrie Miller-McClain; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Price's life is to be conducted at half-past one o'clock in the afternoon, on Monday, the 8th day of February 2021 at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Wendell Nance, Justin Rush, James Rush, Kevin Rush, Mike Price, and William Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be Wyatt Nance.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Melanie Sutton for her loving care the past five years and Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Laramie and Dorothy, for their compassion during this difficult time.

Funeral services for Russell Conrad Price, Sr. are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.

  1. We used to enjoy walking around the corner to their old Longhorn Cafe to drink coffee with them where we met a lot of our friends. He and my husband can now drink heavenly coffee together again. Fly high my friend

  2. We thought a lot Mr.Price and I know he will be dearly missed by his Grandson Tim and my daughter Amanda & kids.We heard a lot of great memories they will keep in their hearts forever.He was a good Husband,Dad,grandpa and great grandpa gone but not forgotten.

  3. I got the honor of being the oldest Grandchild and naming him Pawpaw. I also got to name our Memaw. Pawpaw helped shape me in to who I am today. I know his heart is so happy to be with Memaw in Heaven. I’m sure he’s also up there with my son Cole telling him stories about his Momma. Till we meet again Pawpaw, I love you forever and a day!
