John Braswell Escue, age 67, passed into the waiting, loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ on February 5, 2021, at his home in Elkhart, Texas. Born May 6, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas to Irven Lee Escue and Iva Retta Braswell Escue. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1972 and attended Angelo State University.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Virginia Eggleston Escue of Elkhart, Texas; son, Aric Escue and wife Dianne; grandchildren, Robert, Ryan (Whitney), Brittany, Taylor, Ricky, Lauren and Sofia; great grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Olivia and Beau; brothers, Fred (Teresa) of Eden, Texas and Glenn (Janice) Escue of College Station, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father and mother.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.

I first met John when I went to work at the hospital.  We both figured out we were from West Texas, and soon became friends.  I joined John for lunch and Bible Study almost every day for about a year and a half.  I loved his insight and I greatly valued his friendship.  I will truly miss him, until we meet again in Glory.    Your friend, Wes Tinney

  4. I met John in 2018 when I started working at the hospital. He was more than a co worker he was a friend. Until we meet again it is not good by its see you later.

  6. I went to high school with John. It seemed that I always was seated by him. He had a great personality and enjoyed our friendship. My deepest sympathies to his dear family.  Now you know all the answers!
