He always had a smile to share and lots of delicious treats to bring to the table. May he and his family be enfolded in Love everlasting

  5. I have known the Calcote family for 40+ years having attended Palestine High School with both Ken and Nancy. My heart goes out to them, especially given the recent passing of their sweet mother, Althea. Ken and I were good friends for years and lived in the same Houston neighborhood for a short time where our dogs played together. I can’t recall a time when Ken was not smiling and laughing. Sending prayers for strength and comfort to his family at this difficult time.

  6. Ken was one of my ushers at Resurrection MCC. After he lost his leg I got to stay at his house for a few days to help support him. We had some great talks, played with Harry, met his mom and sisters. I attended PT appts with him and celebrated when he first walked back into the church. Ken was a very gentle, kind and caring friend. I regret not visiting him more during the pandemic. Love you Ken. God bless

  7. I shared a lot of time with Ken when diabetes took his leg. He let me stay at his house for a few days to help him when he got home from the hospital. I walked Harry. I went to PT with him and helped him to “walk” into the church for the 1st time. I had many many great talks and visits with Ken and we became bosom buddies. I got to meet his mom and sisters. The pandemic brought about very few visits and my regret is that I didn’t stay in better touch with Ken. Loved you like a brother Ken – may your family and friends feel the love and care you gave. God bless.

  8. Ken was a wonderful man. our family had grown so fond of Kens evening walks with Harry out in the front yard. While walking by his house shortly after his passing we all took a moment to share what we loved about him the most. Eloise (9) said she was so encouraged by he pressed through obvious pain and discomfort with a positive attitude and smile on his face at all times, Isaac (6) shared that he always looked forward to seeing Kens smiling face and getting to play with Harry, and Oscar (3) said that he loved saying hi to Ken cause he was always so happy to say hi back.

We only got to know Ken for the last three years and he made a mark on us that will last forever. We are so thankful to have been blessed by his presence and cant wait to see him again.

  9. Ken was such a pillar of strength for me. I remember going to visit him when he was recovering from a major surgery last year. He did h did his best to put everyone else at ease. He was so gracious and so funny. Ken, while this world suffers your loss, Im quite sure the angels are laughing out loud and eating much better since you arrived. I look forward to a time when we can meet again. With sorrow, much love and respect.

  10. I had no idea Ken had passed away! So young! I remember when he was still in high school and he and his family were our neighbors! My condolences to his family!
