June 26, 1976 ~ November 27, 2022

Christopher "Chris" Stephen Adams, age 46, of Oakwood, Texas, entered into his eternal home in Glory on Sunday, the 27th day of November 2022. Chris was born in Lufkin, Texas, on the 26th day of June 1976 to parents Peter Adams and Linda Woolley Adams.

Chris was a fun-loving husband, dad, son, and friend. He dearly loved his wife, Sarah, and the life they built together. His daughter, Emma, was the light of his life and his family was his world. Chris was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back. He always put others first. He enjoyed his time spent in the great outdoors, particularly fishing. Chris was an active member of Calvary Christian Center and had a deep faith in the Lord.

Chris was an exceptional cook who made the best food you could ever eat. He owned and operated Crawdaddy's Food Truck in Buffalo, Texas. Chris loved the way his cooking made people smile. If you knew Chris, you knew he was a big jokester. When Chris was around there was never a dull moment. He was fearless, had a quick wit, and he was very intelligent. Chris left us too soon, but the memories that were made will be treasured forever.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Chris are his loving wife of twenty-four years, Sarah Adams; daughter, Emma Marie Adams; parents, Pete and Linda Adams; father-in-law and mother in-law, Kenneth and Janeen Cobb of Buffalo, Texas; sisters, Jaime Kitagawa and husband Haley of Willis, Texas, and Abby Adams of Conroe, Texas; brother, Micah Adams and wife Maria of Conroe, Texas; nephew, Cole Kitagawa; and his nieces, Ella Adams, Kate Adams, Leah Kitagawa, Kendall Cobb, Kennedy Cobb, Mary Ross, and Isabella Ross. He also leaves behind a multitude of friends and his fishing buddies.

A memorial service to celebrate Chris's life is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 1st day of December 2022 at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood, Texas, with Bro. Jack Smith officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Micah Adams, Josh Marhofer, Brent Ryder, James Cobb, Justin Matthews, John Reddoch, and all his fishing buddies.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are directed towards The Base, 381 LCR 514, Mexia, Texas 76867.

Memorial and cremation services for Christopher Stephen Adams are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.

  1. As Chris’ father, whenever Chris was around, especially in his latter years, there was a noticeable presence and spirit that you just couldn’t put your finger on. He always left a big footprint that was larger than life. I never could quite put my finger on what it was but now, I see that his lack of presence has left a huge vacuum in our lives. It leaves you with a loss of words and a confusion of what just happened.

I’ve never met anyone in life that had as much “faith” as Chris did. It was contagious and made your faith grow as you listened to him talk about God and what God did for him, was doing for him, and would do for him… all because of what the Word says. He truly beat all the odds from Cancer to this horrible bleeding disorder called HHT. The Doctors gave up on Chris so many times and sometimes mocked his faith, but it never deterred Chris. When most people would have to go home and get in the bed to recoup after being in the Hospital, Chris would go fishing, go on family vacation, go snow skiing or tubing in the mountains, go here and there, but always doing something and going somewhere.

He never let the disease dictate to him how he could live his life. I never saw him stop and relax until his Mom would come and rub his hands, his arm, or his head. He would close his eyes and take it all in like it was a magic potion of calm and peace.

Every parent knows, it’s a horrible thing to bury your child. It’s just not supposed to be that way. We get old, go home and the kids bury us. We lead the way to that glorious place we all look forward to, then we wait anxiously for them to all come along and then we’re all together for “eternity.” But then again, Chris was never one to wait and be at the back of the line.

  2. Sarah & Emma, I’m so sorry to hear the news. He was always so amazing to my boys and I was very thankful for his kindness. I pray that you’ll feel his constant presence every day. My heart is with you!

  3. Chris was my eating out buddy. We would go eat fish and shrimp at Anthony’s while the rest of the family was busy. He always invited Kenneth and myself over to eat fried fish, shrimp and even steaks when he cooked these special meals. Chris and Sarah would spend time with me working on puzzles. There was always a contest to see who would put the last piece of the puzzle together. Sarah usually won but she would give the piece to Chris. He loved deer season and cool mornings and spent many days in his deer stand. Sometimes sleeping and most years bagging a big buck. He showed up at our house with stuff all the time and then leave the stuff here. Several things come to my mind: a cow, electric fence, chickens wood splitter and a variety of trees and bushes. We love Chris and have many fond memories of family time together. Memories that we will cherish. ❤️

  4. Pete and Linda,
I am so sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. My heart aches for you and the family.
He was just a little boy at the Gingerbread House Daycare in Conroe, when I last saw him but I’ve prayed for him many times in more recent years.
May the Lord cover you all with His peace and comfort during this most difficult time.
    Debbie & James King
