Mrs. Bridges was born on the 6th day of March 1932 in Houston County, Texas to parents Harry Gammage and Ardell Luce Gammage Head. Mrs. Bridges was a Christian and a faithful member of the First Congregational Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bridges, a cherished member of the Elkhart community, had a welcoming presence in the snack bar at Elkhart I.S.D. for many years, where she not only served meals but also offered love and words of encouragement to countless students and staff before retiring. Mrs. Bridges's interests were a reflection of her expansive heart. She was the epitome of a caregiver, always putting others before herself.
An avid Elkhart Elks Football fan, Mrs. Bridges's enthusiasm for the game was infectious. She was a constant figure at sports events, supporting all her children and grandchildren in every game. Her passion extended to all sports, and the teams she followed with such devotion.
Cooking was another of Mrs. Bridges's many talents, and she found joy in the smiles and satisfied sighs that followed her delicious meals and pecan pies. Her love for traveling took her to places where she could create new memories with friends and family. Her absence will be felt, but the light of her spirit will remain a guiding force for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

I got to know Ms. Billie when I was her mail carrier for many years. She was such a sweet lady and I was a recipient many times of her delicious desserts and a cold Dr Pepper that she graciously wanted to share. Prayers for comfort for all her family.
Condolences to all of you, she was a good lady. It seems like I knew her my whole life.
My heartfelt condolences to Eddie, Larry, and the extended family on your loss.
My fondest memory is the coconut pie she baked for me a few weeks after Alyce’s passing. Somehow, she got word that I would like to have a slice of Billie’s coconut pie. I received a call from her one Saturday afternoon, informing me that she had baked me a pie, but I would have to come pick it up. One of my sons was visiting, so he and I drove over to pick the pie up. That’s when I found out she had been in the hospital and had just gotten out that morning. That’s the servant’s heart that Billie Bridges lived by.
Our sincere condolences go out to the family. We pray for your comfort during this time.

May you rest in eternal peace and comfort in the arms of our loving Savior. You were always such a sweet lady , always saying hello when you saw me or just smiling through the crowd at a game . I don’t know how you put up with all us kids through the years working in that snack bar , but you and Mrs . Sheridan did it . You always had my “ Nutty Bar” ready for me !
My condolences to the family , may God keep you close and wrap you in his love giving you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
