Craig Alan Snell

Craig Alan Snell, age 55, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following complications from diabetes. Craig was born on February 5, 1971, in Pasadena, Texas, to Donald Wayne Snell and Alice "Liz" Hurley Snell. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought something special to the lives of those who knew him.

Craig found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, gardening, building, and spending time around animals. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and could build just about anything. His main talent was welding, and he was an excellent welder who took great pride in his craftsmanship. He was known for being exceptionally precise and taking great pride in doing things the right way. His love for animals and the care he gave to the things around him reflected the kind of person he was—patient, capable, and caring. Craig was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Those who knew Craig will remember him not only for the things he could create with his hands, but for the memories he created with the people he loved. His grandchildren, family, and friends will carry those memories with them and remember the love, laughter, and special moments they shared with him.

His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will remain in their hearts and in the many things he built, planted, nurtured, and left behind.

Craig was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Snell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Liz Snell; his daughter, Kayla Kelly; his son, Cody Snell Hermans and wife, Hannah; and his beloved grandchildren, Ezra, Emerson, Parker, and Tate. He is also survived by his sister, Regina Walsh and husband, Steve; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Craig's life is to be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 19th day of September 2026 in the Rhone Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Walsh officiating the service. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
