October 25, 1977 ~ October 15, 2026

Jason Scott Sparkman, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on Thursday, the 15th day of October 2026, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  He was just a few days shy of his 49th birthday on the 25th day of October.

Jason was born in San Clemente, California and was a man whose heart beat to the rhythm of country music and the cowboy way of life. He found joy in the saddle, on the open road with his motorcycle, or behind the wheel of a side-by-side exploring the outdoors. Rodeos were his happy place, and horses were his lifelong companions.

Jason was known for his caring spirit, always ready to lend a hand or give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a guard for many years.  In his spare time, Jason enjoyed working on his grandfather’s land in west Texas.  He worked hard in everything he did, and though he was shy at first, once you got him talking, his warmth and humor shone through. Jason will be deeply missed, but his legacy of generosity and love for the cowboy way will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving family including his uncle, Roy Sparkman and wife Gwen; aunts, Margaret Sparkman, Doris Gladwin, Lynn Davis, Dora Sparkman; cousins, Brian Sparkman, Brandon Sparkman, Brandy Speer and Jennifer Gladwin.  Jason is also survived by other family members and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Jason Sparkman are to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 14th day of November 2026 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
