She was 88 years of age. She was born to Claude and Stella Blum Moore on the 13th day of September 1933 in Palestine, Texas.

Althea worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 20 years before retiring in May of 1994. During her career, she carried several routes, but spent most of her career carrying route 6. She loved getting to visit her patrons along her route every day, in which she made many friends along the way.

Althea was happily married for 64 years. Their love for each other was an amazing inspiration to all who knew them and together they raised three children. She was a member of Lone Pine Baptist Church for 68 years. She was the longest standing member at the time of her passing. She loved her church and all her church family. She valued the time she was able to spend with friends and always looked forward to playing "Chicken Foot" with them every week. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family who were all blessed to have had her for their mother and "Meme".

Althea joins in Heaven her parents Claude and Stella Blum Moore; husband, Howard Calcote; grandson, John Michael Linstrom; sisters, Pauline Alexander, Helen Weiner, Thelma Morton, and Claudine Lauden; and brothers, C.B. Moore, Jr., Frank Moore, Melvin Moore, and Doug Moore.

Althea leaves behind her children, Linda Barnett and husband Toby of Palestine, Texas, Ken Calcote of Houston, Texas, and Nancy Linstrom and husband Mike of Ft. Worth, Texas; granddaughters, Krystal Magee and husband Andy, Tobie Pond and husband Chad, Meagan Linstrom, Emily Linstrom, and Alexis Linstrom; great-grandchildren, Haley Barnett, Gracie Carpenter, Boyce Magee, Claire Pond, Kathryn Pond, and Caroline Pond.
