  2. On so many occasions when I was a teenager, I don’t know what I would have done without her when it came to picking out great gifts. I’d go into her store in Palestine Plaza whenever I needed to find a gift for my mom, my grandmother, my aunt, and a few other women in my life. She’d always ask me a few questions, and then Voila! She’d know right off the top of her head the perfect gift that I could afford. It worked perfectly every time. I remember that she was always so friendly and upbeat. My most sincere condolences are for her family.

  3. A lovely lady! God bless her family!

  4. My best memory of Ms Billie is when we took a trip to MN. It was just us two and we talked and laughed the whole time. We made time to get our sweets because we both love our sweets. Ms Billie you are going to be greatly missed but I know I now have someone else looking out for me from Heaven. Until we see each other again save me a piece of pie. Love you Nil!

  5. Ms. Jean McGroarty and daughters says:

I meet Ms. Billie in our early eighties through mutual friends – her daughter Gail and Nil Calderon who worked together. My daughter Diane built me a beautiful home on North Padre Island. We became the best of friends, I’m older.
I invited her to my home in Minnesota and while here she came to a huge Halloween party in our shop, live music and all. Let me tell you, she had all eyes on her. She dressed as a Bumble Bee. The men loved her. She also got to see the Mall of America.
We had a lot of fun on Padre Island – always found something to do together. Diane and Nil through wonderful parties at my home and Ms. Billie was always there.
We are planting a burning bush tree next to my home in Minnesota in remembrance of her. It turns red in the fall and she will always be remembered. She was a wonderful friend and I will miss her.

  6. Ms Billie was such a beautiful, witty and gracious lady. I loved her from the moment I meet her at a Corpus Christi party. Ms. Billie had me laughing at her funny stories and comments. I was always so happy to see her and learn something new about what like has in store for me. May Ms. Billie rest in peace. Gail and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Alicia H Nieto
