September 19, 1969 ~ October 2, 2024

Bobby Lynn Gibson, age 55, of Long Lake, Texas went home to be with the Lord and his daddy on Wednesday the second day of October 2024. Bobby G was born on September 19,1969, in San Antonio, Texas to Bobby and Patricia Gibson. He spent his early childhood in Noonday before moving to Long Lake in 1980. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1989 and spent the last 8 years happily employed at Tony Winkel Construction. He also loved his time working aboard a tugboat and enjoyed many years working as a swabber at Mustang Oilfield Services. Bobby G was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and could make anyone laugh with one of his iconic freestyles or signature catchphrases.

Bobby G spent his youth running around, causing trouble in Long Lake with a group of friends that were more like brothers. He was devoted to many hobbies throughout his life, including football and baseball, dirt track racing, league bowling, RC car racing, fishing trips to Galveston and video games, but none more important than iRacing. He enjoyed weekly family dinners on Wednesdays, as long as he made it home in enough time for his iRacing league. He loved lake days, spending the day playing cornhole and washers, hitting golf balls across the lake, trick riding jet skis, doing backflips off the rope swing, but most importantly, spending time with his beloved friends and family.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father Bobby Frank Gibson and nephew Jeremiha Bailey.

Bobby is survived by his wife Loria Gibson, mother Patricia Vaughn, brother Stacy (Chili Bowl) Gibson and wife Lorna, sister Angela Coleman and husband Danny, daughter Shelby Gibson, son Devin Gibson, and bonus children Hope Jerome, Jason (Eric) Barnes and Amanda Barnes. He is also survived by his nieces Tonya Powell, Abbie Coleman, Marina Powell, and Mandy Coleman, and his granddaughter Maisie Barnes, and by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a devoted Papa G, Dad, and Uncle Bobby to many.

Funeral services to celebrate Bobby Gibson's life are to be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, the 6th day of October 2024 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with eulogist and close friend, Bo Harding, officiating the service. 1. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Bobby was one of a kind!

  2. I worked with Bobby at Tony Winkel Construction and saw firsthand how he never met a stranger.
His laugh was contagious and humor Outrageous!
It breaks my heart to know I won’t get to hear G Money share any more stories.
I share my heartfelt condolences to his family and pray for comfort and peace for their hearts.
    Godspeed Bobby G-

  3. I met Bobby around 1987. We were kids playing at being adults. I don’t remember ever seeing him without that smile. Nothing kept him down. I haven’t seen him in many years but have always thought fondly of him and his family. I met his daughter years ago and I could see how much Bobby loved her. He was a proud daddy. I knew he’d make a great grandfather one day. He was a great brother and son. I know how much he loved and respected his mom and dad. He was always close to his brother and sister.
I know that many people came through Long Lake and Bobby was always welcoming.
I used to wish my family was as close as Bobby’s family stayed through the years. We are not all that blessed but he deserved it. He was a kind person and deserved all the love he got in this world.

  4. Tammy (Conaway) Plunkett says:

I graduated with Bobby at Westwood HS in 1989. Bobby was always making everyone laugh and was always such a good friend. He would give you the shirt off of his back if he thought you needed something. Rest in peace sweet friend. I’ll never forget you. Prayers to Angela, Chili, and the entire family. What a blessing he was to us all!

  6. Bobby, and worked together at Propak. We also bowled together off and on. The many fun times was numerous. Each time we were together Bobby was always laughing about something. He was great friend. He took me to the place he would be buried many years ago. Telling me, I don’t usually bring anyone with me here. He told me the reason he took me with him was because we were friends. He said we would be friends forever. I will him dearly. RIP my longtime friend. Till I see you again.
