Brice Hamilton McDonald

Brice Hamilton McDonald, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 18th day of August 2026. He was born in Neches, Texas, on the 6th day of August 1933 to parents Brice Norvell McDonald and Josie Della Hamilton McDonald. Brice was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who had deep roots in Neches, Texas.
Brice was a member of First Methodist Church of Neches for many years and loved the Lord and his family dearly. Brice always made sure his family knew how much he loved them, and his love and devotion will be remembered by all who knew him.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 aboard the USS Boxer during the Korean War. Following his military service, he devoted 35 years to the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad before retiring.
Brice enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, shooting guns, and, perhaps most of all, telling stories and sharing memories with those around him. He enjoyed watching old Western movies and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Brice was proud of his community and his Neches heritage. In 2014, he was honored to serve as the Grand Marshal of the Neches Heritage Day Parade, a fitting recognition of a man whose family and life were deeply connected to the Neches community.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann McDonald; parents, Brice and Josie McDonald; and brother, Bethune McDonald.
Brice leaves behind a legacy of love with his children, Susie Jimenez, Craig McDonald, Tammy Kent (John), Daron McDonald, and their mother, Betty Langston Douthit; daughter, Suzie Campbell (Richard); sister, Johnnie Belle Faucett (Jimmy); and brother, Robert McDonald (Bette). He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Sarah Taylor, Nick Jimenez (Amy), Andrew Thompson (Gina), Brad McDonald (Haley), Brice C. McDonald, Landon Kent, Natalie Kent, Barry Campbell (Shannon), Robin Spencer, Leah Staeb (Kevin), and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to a visitation from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 28th day of August 2026 at Rhone Funeral Home in the Molly Ray State Room.
Funeral services to celebrate Brice McDonald's life will be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 29th day of August 2026, at First Baptist Church, Neches, Texas with Bro. Charles Grasty and Bro. David Dixon officiating the service. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Neches Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Nick Jimenez, Landon Kent, Andrew Thompson, Brad McDonald, Brice C. McDonald, and Barry Campbell.
