Damon Mural Long

Damon Mural Long, age 78, of Lindale, left this life on Earth to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He was born on January 12, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Roy C. Long Sr. and Mae Cubstead. Mr. Long was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lindale. Damon enjoyed watching television and playing solitaire. He had a passion for photography and would tear things up just to be able to fix them. Damon loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Damon is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley Quinn; daughter in law, Janet Quinn; son, Roger Quinn; brother, James Long and grandson, Aaron Quinn.

Damon is survived by his wife of thirty nine years, Sherry Pyle Long; daughter, Mary Diener and Chad of North Post, Florida; brother, Roy C. Long Jr. and Carolyn of Conroe, Texas; sons, Danny Long and Rhonda of Mount Holly, North Carolina, David Quinn and Tanya of Saginaw, Texas, Larry Quinn of Palestine; brother and sister in-laws, Kenneth and Martha Pyle of Crockett, Texas, Charles and Ann Pyle of Chandler, Texas, Thomas and Donnie Yates of Weches, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m.Thursday, April13, 2017 at New Energy Church in Belott, Texas. Brother Byron Howard of Central Baptist Church Lindale and Brother John Goss of Central Baptist Church Crockett will be officiating. Interment will follow at New Energy Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Long, Steven Yates, Rascal Yates, Ruff Yates, and Thomas Yates. Honorary Pallbearer will be Micheal Hutson.

Funeral services for Damon Long are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19, Palestine, Texas.
