Funeral services for Jauneta "Neta" Gurganus, 79, of Palestine will be2 pmon Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Rhone Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Manuel and Charles Gurganus officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Park. Jauneta Gurganus passed away Monday, September 26, 2016, at Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas. Jauneta Gurganus was born July 3, 1937 in Henderson County, Texas to Earl Stokes and Dora Davis Stokes. She was a wonderful mother that found joy and happiness in raising her three sons and loving her many grandchildren. Jauneta was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dora Stokes; two sisters, Pansy Weir and Pauline Weir; and one brother, Aden Stokes. She is survived by sons; Felder Gurganus and wife Kelley, Gary Gurganus and wife Annette, and Gregg Gurganus and wife Sylvia, all of Palestine; and brother, Robert Stokes of Malakoff, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Casey Gurganus, Charles Gurganus, Gregg Gurganus , Trace Elrod , Trey Stephens, and Clint Satterwhite. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19 in Palestine. The family would like to thank Cartmell Home staff for the care that they provided their loving mother. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Cartmell Home in memory of Jauneta Gurganus.
