My name is Mary Papion and I am a health care worker at Memorial Hermann Hospital, I knew Joe and the one thing I can say is that he was a fighter and he was not giving up without a fight. He fought the Good Fight. Joe loved his family so much, I was a personal witness to the love that Cole showed towards Joe during his final hours, even during this pandemic when he was allowed to see his son he was there. The bond between the two was undeniable and unbreakable . Rest In Peace Joe. You’re earned your wings.
Dear McDowell Family - We share your sorrow today and pray you will have God’s peace that passes understanding. Our love,
Curtis & Patti Shore

I met Joe along with Cole, Mary Pat , Sarah and Rebecca nearly twenty years ago when they first came to St Thomas.
We connected from the very first moment I drove them to Charlotte Amarlie. I have met Joe many times after. He was a wonderful young man full of energy.
He will be greatly missed by his family, close friends and well wishers. We all will miss Joe. I say to the family… stay strong, trust in the Lord.
Dear Cole, Mary Pat and family~We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers in the loss of your beloved son-Joe.
