Linda Jane Watts, age 70, of Tennessee Colony, Texas passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, the 24th day of July 2025, at U.T. Health in Tyler surrounded by her family. Linda was born on the 14th day of December 1954 in Palestine, Texas to parents William Raymond Potter and Jane Sapp Potter.
A proud graduate of Palestine High School, Linda's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. She married her soulmate, Bill Watts, and together they shared 52 years of unwavering partnership, creating a legacy of love and devotion. She was embraced by the Watts family from the very beginning, and she, in turn, poured her love into every facet of her family life. Linda's role as a wife, mother, and caretaker was her utmost priority, and she embraced it with every fiber of her being.
Known for her exceptional cooking skills, Linda was celebrated for making the best chocolate chip cookies and chicken fried deer steak—a treat that brought together family and friends over shared stories and laughter. Her love for tending to the chickens and rabbits was just another thread in her nurturing spirit. Linda was a treasure to those who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents George H. and Cleo Watts and William and Jane Potter; and brother, William Mark Potter.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Watts, her adoring children, Stephanie Piper and husband Bradley, and Randy Watts and wife Robyn. Linda's grandchildren—Brycen Piper, Reece Watts, Rylee Watts, Harrison Piper, Rowdy Watts, and Annie Piper—will forever cherish the sweet moments and life lessons imparted by their "Big MAMA." Her sister-in-law, Betsy Smith, also holds dear the memory of Linda's sisterly love and support.

Cousin Bill…..Gale and I are mourning the loss of Linda. What a sweet lady who’s memory we will cherish.
You are in my prayers. Loved seeing Linda at family gatherings.
I will always remember Linda’s last smile and her last words to me. When I asked how she was feeling, she said I feel fine. I have seen a lot of patients in my career, but I will always remember Linda. Because right after she told me she felt fine and smiled, she had her cardiac arrest in my exam room. She had no pain, no shortness of breath, no clutching at her chest, she just leaned over onto the arm of the chair she was sitting in. She was the only patient to do that in my 45 years as a medical provider.
Watts Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Linda. I got to know her over the last 17 years that I worked in Tennessee Colony. She was always kind, cheerful, and pleasant when she came in the water office, or when I saw her at the store and the post office. It was clear how much she loved and treasured her precious family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. She will be missed by so many.
From all of us at Christus Trinity Clinic Palestine, we are deeply sorry for the loss of Linda Watts. She will forever be remembered as a true blessing to have known. We will continue to pray for the family and friends. God bless each of you.
