Linda Price
July 5, 1950 ~ January 12, 2024
Linda Price, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at her home with her loving husband by her side. Born on July 5, 1950, in Lufkin, Texas, to parents Alvin Brooks and Doris Marie Patterson, she was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her 73 years of life.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as a loving and kind soul, a woman who gave generously and loved unconditionally. Her love for life was evident in her passions, which included a weekly ritual of playing Bingo every Sunday evening. She was also an avid fisherwoman, where she found serenity at the water's edge, basking in the tranquility of nature. Her love for fishing was only surpassed by her love for her family. Linda was the epitome of selflessness, always putting the needs of her loved ones above her own. She cherished the simple pleasure of staying home and spending quality time with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Her gentle spirit and selfless nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories shared by friends and family for generations to come.
Mrs. Price leaves behind her husband, James H. Price; stepfather, Alex John; daughters, Melissa Smith, Tammy Price, Machelle Smith; sons, Mike Lebel, James Lebel, Robert Smith, and Shane Price. Also, left to cherish the memories are her sister, Carolyn Doughty; brother, Danny Brooks; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with other family members and many friends.
In Heaven, Mrs. Price joins her parents, and her brother, Jimmy Brooks.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 17th day of January 2024 at Rhone Funeral Home.

It’s with great sympathy to the family for the passing of Linda Price. There are many memories as a child, spending the summer’s with Linda and her family. The late night movies and snacks and the smell of a home cooked meals she would prepare with love. Barbecuing at her mom’s house with all the kids running around and going to the Brooks grocery store to push up pop ice cream. Much prayers for the family during this time of grief.
Condolences to all. Each of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I knew Linda for many years, from her days working at Mr. D’s to her later years at Krogers. Though we only saw each other off and on, it was always a pleasure to run into her and be able to talk a minute. Linda was a kind, caring lady who truly loved her family. We shared quick stories, good and bad, about our kids and grandkids in the short time we had to visit, for Ms. Linda was always working! I hated to hear about her sickness, and I kept her in prayers daily. Please know how truly sorry I am to learn of Linda’s passing, and my heart, my prayers go out to her family, for God to grant you strength and comfort in the coming days, for she will never be forgotten, and will be forever loved and deeply missed, by her husband, her family, and all those who knew her. May you now and forever Rest In Peace Ms. Linda.
