Lista Sue Dailey Attaway, age 62, of Grapeland, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Mrs. Attaway was born on December 1, 1954 in Crockett, to Liston and Helen Dailey. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her. Her passion for the love of people inspired her to work as a home health care nurse for many years. Lista was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Grapeland. (Matthew 24:13)
She is preceded in death by her parents, Liston Dwight Dailey and Helen Maudine James.
Lista is survived by her husband, Randy Attaway of Grapeland; daughters, Stephanie Hammons and Heath of Grapeland, Michelle Mason and Joey of Palestine; son, Jason Attaway and Bethany of Ft. Worth; sisters, Helen Lacy and Wayne of Crockett, Becky Burke and Robert of Colleyville, Peggy Brown and Charlie of Tomball; brothers, Balis E. Dailey and Judy of Grapeland, James Dailey and Rhonda of Latexo; grandchildren, Reid and Hunt Mason, Benjamin, Abigale, Joshua, David, Hannah and Noah Attaway, Dyllan and Brandon Hammons, and Anh Nhu; special friends; "The Ya Ya's", Fran Baker, Carol Goolsby, Vickie Holloway, Brenda Payne and Kim Saucier.
Funeral services for Lista Sue Dailey Attaway will be at 10:00a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Grapeland with Bro. Todd Nivens and Dr. David Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the Dailey Cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Rhone Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Jason Attaway, Joey Mason, Heath Hammons, David Cowsert, Michael Brown and Stephen Brown.
Funeral arrangements are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19, Palestine, Texas.

Lista Sue reminds me of Texas wildflowers because she brought joy and beauty to every landscape. She glowed with the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). I will always cherish her sweet voice and beautiful smile. I can hear her softly singing, “This is the day that Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it.†We can all rejoice in the blessing of our beautiful wildflower Lista Sue.
Lissa was a very special person to everyone who knew her, loved by all! She will be greatly missed!

More than a sister-in-law, a friend and sister in Christ. She has inspired me for the more than forty years she has been a part of our family. Dear Dailey Family,
My heart is grief-stricken over new finding out that precious Lista Sue had passed. While I was walking my dog, Shortie, last night, all I could think of was the great gospel song “In the Garden”. I could just visualize precious Lista walking and talking with our Savior surrounded by heaven-scented flowers and two thrones–one for Christ and the other to His right for Lista.
I have packed all of you in a pocket in my heart. I pray for you and love you so much. Now
