Patsy Sue Copeland, of Douglas, Georgia, and formerly of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 24th day of August 2025, at the age of 92. She leaves behind her sons, Jack Copeland and wife Barbara of Missouri, and Todd Copeland of Georgia; her brother, Rusty Sikes, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories; her grandchildren, Chris Copeland, Brian Copeland, Josh Copeland, and Misty Jimenez, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who were the sparkle in her eyes. Mrs. Copeland is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Ruth Sikes; husband, Bill Copeland; daughter-in-law, Kim Copeland; and her sister, Mary Penegar.

Mrs. Copeland was born and raised in Palestine, Texas on the 29th day of June 1933 to parents Jack Sikes and Patsy Ruth Burns Sikes. After graduating from Palestine High School, Mrs. Copeland dedicated her life to the cherished role of a housewife, finding her greatest joy in raising her family and caring for her beloved husband, Bill.

A devout Christian, Mrs. Copeland was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church of Palestine. Her commitment to service extended beyond the church walls as she volunteered alongside her husband at the Palestine Southside Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Mrs. Copeland's interests brought joy and camaraderie to her life. She loved to go antiquing, always on the lookout for unique treasures to add to her collection. Her passion for playing bridge was more than a pastime; it was a weekly gathering of friends and countless memories with her bridge club. Mrs. Copeland's journey on Earth has ended, but her story will be told for generations to come, and her memory will be cherished as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Graveside services for Patsy Copeland are to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 29th day of August 2025 at Roselawn Park in Palestine, Texas.

  1. Pat was a dear friend who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Pat and I played many a round of bridge. I willl cherish the memories of so many activities we shared in our beloved Methodist Church . My condolences to her family. A life well lived.

I grew up around Patsy (with my sisters Nell and Janice Craft, and brother in law Jack Davis, and Rusty)..Certainly was a friend of Bill and Patsy later in life. They as a couple and as individuals were just a special pair. Since all my family that knew Patsy around my house are gone, I share the love and friendship she always provided my family.   3. Patsy and Bill were sweet neighbors for many years., I loved talking with her when she took her morning walks. She will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to have known her. Rest in peace sweet lady.

  4. Got to know her at Cartmell and loved our visits. Always friendly and upbeat. She and Bill were such good caretakers of Bill’s brother John.

  5. Aunt Patsy was like a second mother to me. She was always smiling, encouraging and nurturing. I will miss her.

  6. Pat was one of my dearest friends. I have missed her these last years she has been away. I loved Ruth, too. Treasured memories of her will remain with me.
