Rebecca "Becky" Ann Ingram
July 10, 1950 ~ October 26, 2024
Rebecca Ann Ingram, affectionately known as Becky, passed away at the age of 74 on October 26, 2024, due to complications from open heart surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. Born on July 10, 1950, in Jacksonville, Texas, Becky was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Her Godly spirit and generous heart made her a beloved figure in her community and beyond.
Becky was the cherished daughter of the late John and Frances Watts. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years, Sammy Ingram, and a loving mother to her children, Jodie Ingram Reed and Jonathan Ingram. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced the role of mother-in-law to Jeremy Barnett, John Reed, and Davi Ingram with the same love and warmth she gave to her own children. Becky's grandchildren—Isabel, Carter, Landon, Annabeth, and Jeremiah Barnett, and Violet, Carly, Sam, and Jovi Ingram—were the apples of her eye. She spent a lot of time with them and cherished every moment. She loved getting to know her bonus grandchildren- Ava, Wyatt and Jillian Reed.
Becky's siblings, Karen Allen, Asa Watts, Albert Watts and his wife Carol, Billie Jo Box, David Watts and his wife Judy, and Kathy Stevens and her husband Stanley, will remember her as the sister who always led with love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her sister, Aurelia Daniel, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
An alumna of Oakwood High School, Becky carried the lessons of her youth throughout her life, embodying the values of integrity, kindness and serving the Lord. The daughter of an evangelical preacher, she often got to share the good news of the Lord around various places. Her passion for music and worshipping the Lord was evident to all who heard her play the piano, a God given talent she honed with grace and dedication. Becky's love for baking was only matched by the love she poured into every recipe, creating not just delicious cakes, but also warm memories that her family and friends will treasure forever. She cherished friendships made through church and her time working at Dr. Gold's office.
As a grandmother, Becky's joy was multiplied with every new addition to the family. She was a constant presence in her grandchildren's lives, offering unwavering support and boundless affection. Each grandchild knew they had a special place in her heart, and her legacy of love will live on through them.
Becky's spirit was characterized by her generosity. Whether it was her time, her talents, or her resources, she gave freely and without expectation of return. Her loving nature extended beyond her family to her friends and community, where she was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Becky will remember her as a God loving woman of strong faith, generous, and kind—a woman whose presence could brighten the darkest of days. Her laughter was infectious, her smile could light up a room, and her kindness knew no bounds. Her love for the Lord shined through in everything she did - whether it was playing worship music on the piano or just hanging out with family.
Becky Ingram's life was a testament to the power of God's love for all of us and the beauty of a life well-lived. As we say goodbye to Becky, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her memory will be a treasure that we carry with us always, a reminder of the joy and love that she shared so freely with the world. Becky's life was a beautiful melody that will resonate in the hearts of those who loved her, a tune that will never be forgotten.

We are so sorry for your loss of such a precious woman. She was our babysitter many years ago, enabling me to finish college courses in Tyler. Your family is treasured by all of us. We know you celebrate her precious life, and the beautiful legacy she left in you, her children, and her grandchildren. We pray for comfort and peace as you go through this huge loss of such a darling lady.
My memories of Aunt Becky span my life. We haven’t had many opportunities to visit much in the more recent years although I did get to visit briefly with her and give her a hug at the most recent family wedding several months ago.
Aunt Becky was always kind and generous to me and loved her family with all she had. I remember her famous cakes she made and being a great cook as many in our family are. I remember going to their house quite a few times when I was younger. I remember Christmas over there several times and the house being filled with joy and laughter. We had several combined garage sales at their house and I remember sitting on her front porch during one of those sales with several other family members and our granny and we were each sewing pieces of a quilt that Granny made for my wedding shower. I remember staying with her a time or two and a best friend of mine used to live next door. I remember Penny (their dog) used to greet us at the porch steps as we went through the gate.
I love hearing her playing the piano as she and Uncle David would make music together as music has been a big part of my family all my life. I don’t just have one specific memory of Aunt Becky because they are all sprinkled throughout my life, but I’m so grateful to the legacy that God has blessed our family with. I’ve never had to worry or question whether or not if any one of us dies where we would go. I have always been confident that I will get to see everyone of us in heaven one day. I know that she is dancing the streets of gold and praising God with many of our family members that have moved to heaven already including Granny, Pawpaw and Aunt Aurelia. We know this life is temporary and it’s not our final destination.
I pray peace and blessings on Uncle Sammy, Jodie, Jonathan and all of the grandkids that are still here that God would comfort them during this time. It is hard for all of us, but especially them.
Dear Sammy, Jodi, Jonathan and family,
Our hearts ache for all of you. We have been praying for weeks for Becky and all of you. Heaven has gained a precious soul. She was such a dear neighbor and friend to us. Our prayers of comfort and strength will continue for all of you. We extend our loving sympathy.
I have known this precious 💞 Godly woman since I was in my early 20s and I am 75. She has always been loved by everyone. She was an awesome Christian friend to me in the beginning and an outstanding friend and babysitter to my young children after I married. My heart aches that she is gone from this world but celebrates to know that she is praising Jesus right now. Thank you, Lord! My condolences to you, Sammy, Jodie, and Jonathan for your great loss. May God comfort you and carry you in his arms when needed! I truly understand your hurt, I loss my husband 2 years ago after open heart surgery. But with God’s help you will survive. My love and prayers, always
Such a breath of fresh air always smiling and sharing a sweet moment as she greeted you. Warmth radiated from her heart. God’s precious prepared place e welcomed her home. Touching so many lives lets her live on in our hearts. Blessings to Sammy and the family.

This world will be a little less bright without Becky. She was one of the kindest and compassionate people I have known. Becky trained me to take her position at GEC when she finally decided to retire. She was so excited to have more time with her kids and those grandkids that she literally adored. We had lots of good belly laughs with each other and sometimes Linney would come around the corner and we would try to stop laughing but rarely could. Oh how that time will be so much more special to me now. All the wisdom she imparted to me and the grace she gave me will remain with me always, but more than anything her love and support. What a grand piano I know she is now playing before the throne. God be with this precious family. I love you my sweet friend, Tanna
Becky and I were first cousins but more than cousins; we were friends. Unbeknownst to her, she was my piano mentor. I will never play as good as her but the Lord used her to help me learn. I praise the Lord for allowing me to be a part of her life. Delda (Watts) Barfoot.
Becky and I were more than first cousins; we were friends. I thank the Lord for allowing me to be a part of her life. The Lord used her to teach me to play the piano. She was a blessing to my life. I have many more memories.
My earliest recollection was when Glenn and I married. She played at our wedding. She often played for my mother-in-law, Sherry Gusa, and she played for Glenn and Trinity Church for years. I think the funniest thing that I remembered happening was her throwing a song book at Glenn when he changed keys and she had to follow him. Glenn and Becky always enjoyed singing and playing together. When I heard of her passing, I thought that she and Bro. Benny, Glenn and Sherry were having Church and leading praise and worship with Helen Cook on the organ. I want Sammy, Jodie an Jonathan to know that I am praying for them. Love you guys,
Marsha Gusa
I was deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. It feels like just yesterday when our boys were sharing those wonderful moments of friendship. Becky brought so much joy to everyone, and her sweet spirit and friendship will always be cherished.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Karen Flores
Becky and I were friends when we were young single ladies and at that time we shared the Lord greatly with one another and enjoyed each other’s company Then in the 1980s when my husband Patrick Asher was the worship leader at Trinity Church, Becky was the lead musician and excellent pianist. My husband always appreciated her. We were there several years and I can’t remember one time she missed church and couldn’t play the piano. She was always faithful to serve the Lord with her great God given talent. We didn’t know of her recent health condition but just last week my husband and I were talking about her and what a great lead musician she was at that time. Everyone that knew her was blessed and we are blessed by her memory.
Becky was an inspiration in my life. We worked together at Dr. Gold’s office for over 14 years. We spent a lot of time beside each other. Becky was smart and caught on quickly when it came time to learn something new. Then, she would teach me, who didn’t catch on quickly. She was always so very patient. I remember when she would leave for the day her desk was organized and clean.
Becky was a true friend. Since we both had a son and a daughter going through teen and young adulthood, we had much to pray about and often did that together. Becky’s prayers were filled with power and faith. She knew God’s Word and stood on it. She made a difference in my life and in our office.
Recently, before she went in the hospital, Becky told me that whatever God had planned for her was what she wanted. She expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness over and over in the texts we shared. Her testimony lives on. She was a precious gift in my life.
I remember when I was young, her playing the piano in church. Using her talents for the Lord whom she loved with all her heart and it showed! She was a sweet loving lady and she will be sorely missed. ðŸ™
I have a lot of wonderful memories of Becky! She, along with another friend and I shared a little house on Green Street that we rented, way back before she fell in love and married the love of her life, Sammy Ingram. Becky was kind, gentle, sweet, talented, and so many more words I could attach. She was a talented musician who very much loved our Lord Jesus Christ. Her dad was my pastor of many years and taught me the lessons of faith living. I am so very thankful for all the good memories I have of Becky. My prayers will continue for her family!
I’ve known Mrs Becky for many years. As a young man I sang for many weddings and Mrs Becky would play the piano. She had the sweetest spirit and a great sense of humor! I also worked with Sammy for several years. I have always looked up to this family and their Godly example. She will be missed here on this earth but heaven has gained a saint. Mrs Becky is face to face with her Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord!
Sammy and family, I’m so sorry to hear about Becky’s passing. Becky and I were able to share a house together as 2 single ladies. It was a wonderful experience plus we worked together at Gibson’s. Even though my memories are before our marriages they are wonderful and never forgotten.. I will lift up all your family in prayer because I know Becky will be dearly missed.
I’m leaving a comment to my own comment. I was thinking about Becky and I remembered that Becky and I were in the hospital at the same time having our baby girls. We were able to walk across the hall and visit. That was a wonderful experience to share with a friend.
Sending love and prayers for all of Becky’s family! She was such a sweet, lifelong friend! She played that piano with all her heart ! She was a kind and caring friend! I know heaven’s music includes her own music now!
Jodie, I’m so sad (and in shock) for you, your dad, and your precious family. Becky poured her heart into loving you all well. We worked side by side for 15 years and prayed together for our loved ones. When I think of her, I hear her laugh and remember the fun times we shared. She will be deeply missed, but I’m so thankful for her life of faith. Praying for you through this difficult new journey. Love and hugs.
