Robert L. Taylor, age 78, of Palestine passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. Robert was born July25, 1938 in Morton, Texas to parents, Willie Taylor and Maudine Lewis. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and the Rotary Club of Lubbock, TX. He was an avid Texas Tech fan. Robert loved to travel and travelled some internationally. Robert was a faithful member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Maudine Lewis Taylor; his wife of 25 years, Henrietta Bedwell Taylor; a daughter, Rhonda Taylor Brown; and a sister, Shirley Tanner.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rita Epperson Taylor of Palestine; son, Rob Taylor and wife Paula of Bullard; stepdaughters, Kim Norris Massey and husband Bobby of Plainview, TX and Amy Parker and husband Jody of Palestine; grandchildren, Breanna Hatch, Latham Hatch, Hunter Parker and wife Kristen, Heather Parker, Baylee Taylor, Ronn Matula, Ariel Matula and Blake Brown.
Services will be held for Mr. Taylor at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, TX.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Taylor are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19, Palestine, TX.
