This is my loved Unkle he was on of the people that carried my initials R.C.R. I remember him taking me as a young boy when I had no father in my life , we camped and walked a 20 mile hike through the Davy Crockett national forest for the weekend. I remember not watching many movies but I stayed the night and weekend anther time and he played Forest Gump when it first came out. There were so many more memories to many to share. Ill forever miss him. I can only hope he found the peace he longed for.
His oldest nephew Royce C Richardson (R.C.)
We are praying for comfort for all of Ross’ family.

Ross was a cousin of mine. At the young age of 9, Ross was introduced into my life. Bringing along my cousin Lynda, whom I became good friends with. Ross taught me about nature and about how amazing it was. From teaching me the love of reptiles to the glorious things Spiders do for the cycle of life in nature. Hr also introduced the band Evanescence to Mr, which was his favorite. He burnt many disks of her music for me and made me a super fan.
He has had tragedies in his life but it never brought him down. He was strong as an ox and would take on the world no matter what day. Traveling was such a passion for him. He would tell me about all the things he wanted to do. And most of them he did. He talked about the Philippines and I even Skyped with him with the woman he married from there way before they had wedd. He has many family that loves him so much. I hope he went to his favorite place and can be as free as he was in life.
Uncle Ross is a great man. I have many fond memories of him and about him. My earliest memory of him was seeing Mom (Sondra) grabbing a newspaper in Palestine about Desert Storm and it must of been the end because she was happy. A second memory was a family road trip down to Killeen to visit him on base. I have many more but I think my favorite is the trip up to Colorado that Sydney and Clayton was on as well when he took me up there to see mom. This was when he was driving his black jeep cherokee. We were just north of Dumas and we ran into some black ice and lost control but nothing bad happened. He looked at me with his awesome and genuine smile followed by a his great laughter. He is and will always be an amazing spirit. His openess in conversation and ability to listen will be greatly missed. I love you Uncle and love you all. Rest assured he is in a much happier place. My heart is with yall.

For awhile I lived in the same neighborhood (Cedarvale Meadows), and I did a lot of mowing and weeding all around. One day he came out and offered me a beer — my first dark beer. I thought it was a little odd, but I quickly learned he was good hearted and we became friends. He had been suffering chronic back pain. He was Catholic for a time, and we bonded over our conversions and similar backgrounds, and we ended up teaching a few classes together at our local parish. I lost contact with him, and now I live in Iowa. It’s by freak accident that I learned of his passing: I just did a search for “Palestine TX news” and saw his name under the obituary section of the Palestine Herald.
I had known he left the Catholic Faith, but nonetheless I will be praying for his soul to see the face of God and fine eternal peace.
Clayton, Sydney — I am sorry you lost your dad this early. Peace be with you.
