Had some pretty good times working the ole steer ropings. I got to see lots of country because of him. I also got to meet a good many people through him. He was truly one of kind guy. He will be missed. Another Cowboy gone to soon.
Praying God wraps his arms around Vance’s family and give comfort and peace as only he can. Back around the 80’s, Tip had team ropings at Horatio, AR, where a lot of locals enjoyed competing at. Vance was a very good roper and rode a spotted horse that was a little pigeoned toed but that didn’t hurt him being a good roping horse. I remember a lot of the cowboys called him “HOLLYWOOD” back then probably because he wore sunshades. As I drove past that arena recently I thought about Vance and Tip and wondered where they ended up.
